Sydney Calligraphy Workshop x The Clean Treats Factory

Sydney Calligraphy Workshop x The Clean Treats Factory

Three years ago, the team at West Elm Bondi Junction extended an invitation to host a calligraphy workshop in their flagship store. I was starting out, had never thought about teaching and had zero experience in hosting commercial events.

Looking back at that opportunity and what it turned into - countless trips across the country teaching hundreds of students calligraphy - I remain forever grateful to West Elm for seeing potential in me that I could not yet see myself.

Having just finished my last calligraphy workshop for 2018, I just want to take this opportunity to thank every supplier, sponsor, florist and workshop attendee that made the last three years possible. As I plan to embark on a new direction with the workshops, I could not be more grateful for the support!

The Sydney Calligraphy Workshop at The Clean Treats Factory, with 36 guests and a tribe of incredible suppliers behind me, was beautifully captured by Adelaide-based photographer Dylan Lee.

Having never taught so many students in the one class, I recruited beautiful Lauren Dannenberg to assist me (Hand-Letterer behind Paper Parade) across the night. And we were absolutely spoiled by my friends at Sceen'ry Travel Journal and Salt & Glow.

Olivia Saler of OSaler Floristry, who has been my ongoing side-kick across the Calligraphy Workshops hosted in Sydney, put together the incredible florals for the night and interpreted my vision of having florals grow out of smashed marble to perfection.
